Glass House demonstrates the thought processes behind defining and understanding my design practice. Readings, literature reviews, and research assignments are intertwined into the publication to consider contemporary design issues and the relevance of pre-design stages in one’s practice.

The contents of this book help make sense of my interests in mid-century architecture/product design and how successful design from those fields inspires my work.

In light of all of the reflecting and shadow work put towards this publication, I found a new love for sewing and working with materials that hold meaning. The Glass House book sleeves represent how a work’s container can extend the story.

To better match my research, an edition of six slipcovers was sewn to reflect the line work used in textile patterns and retrofuturistic fashion of the sixties.
